Former Governor Don Siegelman is Going Back to Prison

Former Governor Don Siegelman is re-sentenced to prison. Federal judge Mark Fuller has sentenced the 66 year old to 6 1/2 years behind bars for conviction on bribery and other charges. Earlier in the day, Siegelman told the judge he "deeply regrets" the things he has done. Siegelman and former Healthsouth CEO Richard Scrushy were convicted in 2006 as prosecutors say they arranged a half million dollars in contributions to Siegelman's lottery campaign in exchange for a seat on a hospital regulatory board for Scrushy. The judge has allowed Siegelman to remain free and then turn himself in before September 11.
