(WENN) - Police officers in Texas have arrested a man in connection with the shooting of rapper Trae Tha Truth.

The Houston native, real name Frazier Thompson III, was hospitalized in the early hours of the morning on June 20 after sustaining a gunshot wound outside a nightclub, just hours after performing a concert.

Three people were killed in the shootout, prompting cops to launch a full investigation, and now they've made a breakthrough in the case.

On Wednesday 25-year-old Feanyichi Uvukansi was taken into custody for questioning. He is being held without bail and faces capital murder charges, according to local news website khou.com.

Homicide detectives believe the rapper's 23-year-old associate, Coy 'Poppa C' Thompson, was the intended target after discovering threats were allegedly made against his life three days earlier following a domestic dispute.

Thompson was among those killed, as were bystanders Erica Dotson and Carlos Dorsey.

Trae Tha Truth, who is currently signed to rapper T.I.'s record label, has since made a full recovery.
