Possible sewer rate hikes for Jefferson County.  County Commissioners will hold a meeting Tuesday evening at the Bessemer Civic Center. The hearing starts at 5:30. Commissioners say a rate hike is likely, but the size of the increase is unknown.  The creditors -- led by the Bank of New York Mellon -- want a big hike.  Some have suggested rates be increased as much as 50%.   They will not be attending the hearing.
